5 Reasons Why Entering YiA Rocks

5 Reasons Why Entering YiA Rocks

Need more motivation to enter YiA? Here’s 5 great reasons...

1. Money can’t buy work experience

As well as a cash prizes of up to $2k, winners of YiA get two weeks of work experience with leading businesses in the Bay, including BlueLab, Locus Research, Woods Creative and Cucumber to develop their ideas.

These businesses are all at the cutting edge of innovation – a two-week internship is truly an experience you can’t put a price tag on... but we will, it's a whopping $10,000.

2. CV show-stopper

Great grades are one thing but how do you stand out when everyone has A+’s?  Our awards are judged by some of the world's great innovators including Nike's Innovation Developer Wade Flanagan who is flying in from Nike HQ, Portland for the 2017 awards. Having the winner of YiA on your CV will set you apart from the rest.

3. Get a backstage pass

This is a rare chance to learn from industry experts at the top of their game. YiA will help you learn what a career in innovation might look like through a fun, hands on approach.

4. Be a leader, not a follower

You heard it here first – Design Thinking is the ‘buzzword’ of the moment. YiA is a great way to show businesses you are onboard with the latest thinking.

5. Opportunity to create something amazing

Coming up with and developing an idea often leads to bigger, brighter things. You’d be surprised how many successful businesses started with a few dollars and a big idea! Start innovating – who knows where it might lead?
